Advice in cases of bad weather

In case you decide to travel out of town:

  • Before embarking on your trip, make sure you get information on the weather and the condition of the road network you will be following.
  • Plan your journey so as not to coincide with the peak of bad weather.
  • Check that the systems of your vehicle function well.
  • Make sure that your vehicle is full of gas.
  • Make sure you have anti-sliding tyre chains with you.
  • Make sure you have a first aid kit with you.

In case you drive within the city limits:

  • Prefer to try Public Transport.
  • Move with special care and follow the instructions of the Road Police Officials.
  • Avoid unnecessary transport.

In case you get stuck in your vehicle:

  • Remain inside your vehicle and make sure you turn on the engine for 10 minutes every hour.
  • Place a brightly colored piece of cloth at the radio antenna of your vehicle so as rescue teams find it easier to locate your position.
  • Material such as impermeable jackets, umbrellas, rubber overshoes, whistles, electric torch, blankets, snacks, raisins and chocolate might prove to be useful.
